Job summary

HRI Commercial Food Service in Western New York is seeking a full-time, experienced Commercial Refrigeration & Kitchen Equipment Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration and hot-side cooking equipment at customer sites throughout the region.

This is a hands-on, field-based role for a technician who works independently, communicates directly with customers, and takes pride in keeping mission-critical kitchen operations running.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of field service experience in food service equipment or HVAC/R.
• EPA Section 608 certification required with strong refrigeration knowledge.
• Ability to service refrigeration and hot-side cooking equipment.
• Reliable, self-directed, with strong time management in the field.
• Proficiency reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical/controls.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial refrigeration systems and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration systems and adjust refrigerant charges.
• Assist with installation/startup of refrigeration systems and verify specifications.
• Repair hot-side and other food service equipment as needed.
• Document work, quote repairs, and manage service time via dispatch app.
• Communicate clearly with customers, dispatch, and field teams; participate in on-call rota.
• Maintain vehicle, tools, and stock inventory; comply with safety policies and EPA rules.
