Job Summary: The Field Service Specialist is responsible for building strong customer relationships, achieving excellent customer satisfaction levels, and growing the American Battery Solutions (ABS) customer service portfolio. This role will travel to client locations and support ABS customers. The Field Service Specialist provides technical direction and assistance to customers on the use of ABS products, serving as an expert in Company technology.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure customer satisfaction with product performance and field service activities.
  2. Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service equipment at client sites.
  3. Provide service and customer support during field visits.
  4. Diagnose errors or technical issues and determine appropriate solutions.
  5. Advise and instruct customers on proper equipment use.
  6. Build customer relationships.
  7. Prepare quotations for field service activities as needed.
  8. Create and submit field service reports; provide complete professional documentation to the customer Repair Order (RO).
  9. Responsible for after-hours and emergency 24/7 customer support.
  10. Develop expertise with specialty tools and programs with cross-functional operations support.
  11. Develop and present training programs for key customers and stakeholders for use at customer sites, industry events, and new installations.
  12. Travel to customer and OEM sites as needed; ability to travel in Canada and Mexico.
  13. Participate in troubleshooting workflow development and documentation.
  14. Assist with analyzing warranty and product returns for repair and 8D problem-solving.
  15. Provide training support to the service team.
  16. Adhere to federal and state regulations and company policies.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.
  18. Maintain predictable and reliable attendance.

Position Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in customer service.
  3. Minimum of three (3) years working with complex electro-mechanical systems.
  4. Ability to travel extensively up to 75% domestically and internationally.
  5. Experience with project management, lean, six-sigma, and structured problem-solving practices.
  6. Strong collaborative, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills for working across organizational levels.
  8. Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  9. Ability to work in a dynamic start-up environment with initiative and ownership.
  10. Assertiveness and willingness to share opinions.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged sitting, computer work, and physical demands as described.
