Job summary

Veolia is hiring a Field Service Representative to provide hands-on operations and maintenance for water treatment systems across diverse industries. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and controls issues, maintain equipment performance and deliver detailed site documentation.

The role requires 2+ years in industrial service, a HS diploma or higher, and travel. Candidates must lift 50 lbs and be prepared for after-hours calls; forklift certification is a plus. 100% travel is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor/Associates in STEM or technical preferred.
• Instrumentation, electrical or mechanical certificate is a plus.
• 2+ years' service/maintenance experience in industrial settings.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use EHS reporting tools.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs and be available for after-hours calls.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical, electrical and controls troubleshooting on equipment.
• Create and maintain site paperwork and provide detailed technical summaries.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and chemicals; monitor injection systems.
• Perform site testing (turbidity, pH, chlorine, etc.) and document results.
• Enter work orders, purchase orders and PM plans; track time in Kronos.
• Respond to trouble calls and restore system operation promptly.

As a Field Service Representative, you'll be on the front lines providing operations and maintenance expertise on water treatment systems for one of our customers from one of a variety of industries. This mission critical role involves working on a variety of technologies including, media filtration, wastewater, softening, reverse osmosis (RO), ion exchange (IX), de-oxygenation, electro deionization, and ultrafiltration (UF).

Key Characteristics

• Conduct maintenance and calibration activities
• Consult with customer management and operation teams
• Excellent mechanical know how and problem-solving skills
• Ensure contract compliance of volume and quality specifications
• Operate, monitor, and optimize equipment performance

Duties & Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical, electrical and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as valves, air compressors, ejectors, process pumps, blowers, and instrumentation
• Create and maintain site paperwork, and provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and adequate supply of chemicals and replacement parts
• Monitor and maintain chemical injection systems
• Perform analytical testing such as turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, TOC, in addition to various other site-specific testing requirements
• Enter and complete work orders, purchase orders and PM Plans in Salesforce
• Daily timekeeping in Kronos
• Complete and submit expense reports
• Respond to system trouble calls and troubleshoot and restore system operation in a timely manner
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education & Experience
Required:

• High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification OR international
• equivalent
• 2+ years' experience of service/maintenance (Electrical, chemical, and/or mechanical experience, Pipe fitting) or equivalent in an industrial environment
• Basic computer skills (email, data entry, online training, EHS reporting)
• Able to lift 50lbs
• Willingness and ability to respond to after hours call-out in 2 hrs or less
• Current Driver's License
• Able to maintain Site access
• Forklift Experience/Training or able to certified
• 100% travel (training/other site visits)

Preferred (if applicable):

• Bachelor or Associates Degree in Science/Engineering (STEM) or technical
• certificate in Instrumentation, electrical, mechanical
• 2 years of experience in Industrial, oil field, refineries, chemical or power, generation plants
• Hot, dirty, loud, moving equipment
• Working with chemicals for water treatment
• Working with corrosive chemicals used for Membrane cleaning operations

Working Conditions

• Must be able to perform work with appropriate PPE for work (safety toed shoes, safety glasses, bump cap/hard hat, etc.)
• Time will be split between maintenance work and assembly work. Bending, kneeling, fine motor
• work, using various hand tools and PVC bonding materials (glue, primer).
• Ability to operate power tools such as drills, grinders, and saws.
• Some sitting and computer work is required.
• Some unassisted lifting up to 50 lbs. is required - nearly all heavy parts movement assisted with cranes/hoists and pallet jacks.
