Job summary

Delta Natural Gas Co., Inc., an Essential Utilities company, is seeking a field technician to assist in branch activities, service calls, and maintenance tasks across Kentucky operations. You will handle paperwork, operate vehicles and equipment, attend trainings, and support Customer Representatives as workload requires.

This position requires a high school diploma, 3 years related experience, a valid driver's license, and plastic fusion qualifications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning branch activities in customer service operations, maintenance, odorization, safety procedures, merchandising and new business activities.
• Prepare necessary paperwork: time reports, service calls, damage prevention forms, work orders, leak reports and vehicle reports.
• Operate and/or maintain vehicles, equipment, tools and instruments; maintain appearance and general upkeep of vehicles, equipment, office, shop and storage areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (Primary Duties and Responsibilities)

• Assists in the planning of branch activities in the areas of customer service operations, maintenance, odorization, safety procedures, merchandising and new business activities and is responsible for carrying our assigned duties in these areas in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Kentucky Public Service Commission, other regulatory agencies and the Company in a manner that promotes better employee, customer and public relations.
• Shall be responsible for neatly and accurately preparing the necessary paperwork relating to job assignments including, but not limited to, time reports, service calls, damage prevention forms, work orders, leak reports, material usage reports and vehicle reports.
• Shall operate and/or maintain vehicles, equipment, tools and instruments and shall assist in maintaining the appearance and general upkeep of the Company's vehicles, equipment, office, shop and storage areas.
• Shall be required to attend schools, training sessions and seminars as necessary in order to fulfill assigned job responsibilities
• Shall assist Customer Representatives if workload requires it.
• May be responsible for supervising branch activities in the absence of or at the direction of the Supervisor, Gas Operations, or indirectly supervising up to 6
• Clients include existing and prospective customers, Kentucky Public Service Commission staff, builders and contractors
• Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS (Required Experience, Education, Licenses, and Certifications)

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

May be subject to extreme temperatures, noise, wet and/or humid conditions, mechanical, electrical, gas exposure hazards, fumes, dusts, mists, gases and/or poor ventilation atmospheric conditions.

Must be able to frequently and routinely bend, stoop, dig, lift, pull and carry items occasionally exceeding 100 pounds and any other activity required during the customer service process.
