Cummins Inc. in Rocky Hill, CT is seeking a Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to repair and service generators and components on-site. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment, document service activities, and interact with customers professionally.
Experience with high/low voltage, diesel engines, generators, ATS systems and commissioning is valued. The role requires safety compliance, tool ownership, and ongoing certs as products evolve; relocation may be offered
Completing repair activities on generators or components
Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
Maintain detailed records of service
Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
Maintain own tools
Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.
Basic Diesel Engine experience.
Proficient troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
Able to perform repairs on ATS systems and able to perform commissioning on a new ATS installation.

Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Current relevant electrical certification
Locally valid driving permit
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Basic level field service work experience
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with of power generation products
High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
Customer service experience
Three plus years Power Generator experience.
Associates degree or trade school recommended but not required.
A current valid license is required for this role
This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
3 years driving experience
This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
