Position Summary

This position will perform efficient and thorough mechanical repairs and/or maintenance of all rental equipment primarily at customer job sites and occasionally in the shop.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures at job sites
• Cleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and components to ensure they meet company standards
• Prepares inspection and appraisal reports
• Fully understand the operation, function, specifications, capabilities, and controls of any piece of rental equipment
• Completes all documents associated with repairs in an accurate and timely manner
• Adhere to manager’s and lead mechanic’s directions regarding all repairs and service calls
• Adheres to all safety rules and maintains quality housekeeping in work area

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5 or more years of work-related experience in a technician position
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must have required shop hand tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate from a vocational or technical school
• Valid Class B CDL
• 7 or more years of experience with heavy equipment, preferably with a rental company or Caterpillar, with working knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, electronic/electrical systems, etc.
