Position Summary

This position will perform efficient and thorough mechanical repairs and/or maintenance of all rental equipment primarily at customer job sites and occasionally in the shop.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures at job sites.
• Cleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and components to ensure they meet company standards.
• Prepares inspection and appraisal reports.
• Fully understand the operation, function, specifications, capabilities, and controls of any piece of rental equipment.
• Completes all documents associated with repairs in an accurate and timely manner.
• Adhere to manager's and lead mechanic's instructions regarding all repairs and service calls.
• Adhere to all safety rules and maintain quality housekeeping in the work area.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5 or more years of work-related experience in a technician-related position.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Must have required shop hand tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate from a vocational or technical school.
• Valid Class B CDL.
• 7 or more years of work-related experience with heavy equipment, preferably with a rental company or Caterpillar, or in a position with working knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, electronic/electrical systems, etc.
