Job summary

Wolter, Inc. in De Pere, WI is seeking a Field Service Mechanic who travels to customer locations to repair powered industrial equipment, including forklift trucks, aerial equipment, and floor cleaning machines.

You will be provided with a company service van, service laptop, iPad, credit card, and cell phone, with training and support from factory-certified trainers. This full-time role requires hands-on mechanical skills, strong customer service, and the ability to document work orders and

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience repairing forklift trucks and related equipment.
• Strong customer orientation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple service requests and time effectively.
• Must own tools and have basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites with company van.

Responsibilities

• Complete all service jobs that are assigned to you.
• Communicate with the Road Lead Technician on unusual service problems or for technical assistance.
• Attend service training classes to maintain knowledge on new products.
• Complete and submit all paperwork daily for jobs worked (timecards, maintenance reports with customer signatures).
• Communicate with dispatcher/service office about status and availability for new jobs.
• Identify jobs to be sent to the shop for repair when needed and recommend forwarding.
• Develop and maintain relationships with territory sales representatives to share sales opportunities.
• Always adhere to safety rules and policies.

FIELD SERVICE MECHANIC

We are actively seeking dynamic Field Service Technicians to join our rapidly growing team out of our De Pere location. Field Service Technicians are responsible for traveling to our customer locations and repairing their powered industrial equipment, such as forklift trucks, aerial equipment, floor cleaning equipment, etc. Technicians are provided with a company service van, service laptop, iPad, credit card, and cell phone. We have internal support staff to assist, as well as free technical training through our factory certified in-house trainers, and in-the-field technical support! We are looking for Field Technicians to service customers in the Green Bay, and Lakeshore areas.

Position Responsibilities:

• Complete all service jobs that are assigned to you.
• Communicate with the Road Lead Technician on any unusual service problems encountered or for any technical assistance needed.
• Attend service training classes offered to maintain knowledge on new products, or for refreshers on products not encountered too often.
• Complete and submit all paperwork daily for jobs worked on (timecards, maintenance reports with customers’ signature).
• Communicate with dispatcher and/or service office as to status of jobs and availability for new jobs.
• Identify jobs that should be sent to our shop for repair (due to complexity or safety reasons) and recommend they be sent in.
• Develop and maintain relationship with territory sales representatives to keep them informed of sales opportunities you might see.
• Always adhere to safety rules and policies at all times.

Essential skills and experience:

• Must have very good skills in repairing powered industrial equipment, with a minimum of two (2) years of experience repairing forklift trucks and/or other products we represent, to include all types of gas, diesel, and electric trucks.
• Must successfully complete any training courses required.
• Strong customer orientation.
• Must be a good communicator – written and verbal.
• Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Basic computer proficiency and laptop fundamentals.
• Must own tools necessary to perform repairs, per our recommended tool list.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Must be certified to operate material handling equipment (we will train).
• Commitment to company vision and mission.

Physical demands: Employee frequently lifts up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds, and rarely up to 100 pounds. Employee is required to frequently stand, recline (lying on back), kneel, walk, twist, reach, and use feet to repair and operate machinery. Employee is required to occasionally sit, stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and crawl. Constant use of hands and fingers to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, computer equipment, and other office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have listening, speaking, and writing skills to communicate with customers and service office.
