Job summary

Wolter is seeking Field Service Technicians to service customers in the Green Bay and Lakeshore areas from De Pere, WI. You will travel to customer sites with company vehicle, tools, and equipment to repair powered industrial equipment including forklifts and other machinery.

The role emphasizes training, safety, and strong communication with the Road Lead Technician to resolve issues promptly. A signing bonus is offered for qualified technicians.

Qualifications

• Must have very good skills in repairing powered industrial equipment and 2+ years’ experience repairing forklift trucks or similar equipment.
• Must complete any required training courses.
• Strong customer orientation and communication skills.
• Time management to juggle multiple priorities.
• Basic computer proficiency and laptop familiarity.
• Must own tools to perform repairs per our tool list.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Certified to operate material handling equipment (training provided).
• Commitment to company vision and mission.

Responsibilities

• Complete all service jobs assigned to you.
• Communicate with Road Lead Technician for issues or tech support.
• Attend service training as needed to stay current on products.
• Submit all paperwork daily (timecards, maintenance reports).
• Coordinate with dispatcher for status and availability of new jobs.
• Identify jobs to be sent to shop for repair when needed.
• Maintain relationship with territory sales reps to spot opportunities.
• Adhere to safety rules at all times.

We are actively seeking dynamic Field Service Technicians to join our rapidly growing team out of our De Pere location. Field Service Technicians are responsible for traveling to our customer locations and repairing their powered industrial equipment, such as forklift trucks, aerial equipment, floor cleaning equipment, etc. Technicians are provided with a company service van, service laptop, iPad, credit card, and cell phone. We have internal support staff to assist, as well as free technical training through our factory certified in-house trainers, and in-the-field technical support! We are looking for Field Technicians to service customers in the Green Bay, and Lakeshore areas.

Position Responsibilities:

• Complete all service jobs that are assigned to you.
• Communicate with the Road Lead Technician on any unusual service problems encountered or for any technical assistance needed.
• Attend service training classes offered to maintain knowledge on new products, or for refreshers on products not encountered too often.
• Complete and submit all paperwork daily for jobs worked on (timecards, maintenance reports with customers’ signature).
• Communicate with dispatcher and/or service office as to status of jobs and availability for new jobs.
• Identify jobs that should be sent to our shop for repair (due to complexity or safety reasons) and recommend they be sent in.
• Develop and maintain relationship with territory sales representatives to keep them informed of sales opportunities you might see.
• Always adhere to safety rules and policies at all times.

Essential skills and experience:

• Must have very good skills in repairing powered industrial equipment, with a minimum of two (2) years of experience repairing forklift trucks and/or other products we represent, to include all types of gas, diesel, and electric trucks.
• Must successfully complete any training courses required.
• Strong customer orientation.
• Must be a good communicator – written and verbal.
• Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Basic computer proficiency and laptop fundamentals.
• Must own tools necessary to perform repairs, per our recommended tool list.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Must be certified to operate material handling equipment (we will train).
• Commitment to company vision and mission.

Physical demands: Employee frequently lifts up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds, and rarely up to 100 pounds. Employee is required to frequently stand, recline (lying on back), kneel, walk, twist, reach, and use feet to repair and operate machinery. Employee is required to occasionally sit, stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and crawl. Constant use of hands and fingers to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, computer equipment, and other office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have listening, speaking, and writing skills to communicate with customers and service office.
