We are actively seeking a dynamic Field Service Manager to join our rapidly growing team out of our Indianapolis location. The Field Service Manager manages a team of field service technicians while developing and maintaining quality field service to meet and exceed customers' expectations and company goals.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate with customers as needed, including visits when appropriate.
  • Coordinate the work of battery technicians, acting as a main point of contact.
  • Provide field service proposals to customers for recommended repairs.
  • Issue purchase orders for outside repairs, as needed.
  • Develop and maintain skilled field service technician staff.
  • Handle performance evaluations and disciplinary needs for staff reporting to this position.
  • Ensure ongoing technical training is provided to field service techs, through personal training or our technical training department.
  • Participate in hiring decisions and job interviews for field service positions.
  • Ensure company service vans are maintained properly and safely.
  • Share important communications with staff.
  • Approve field service invoicing prior to billing.
  • Backup dispatcher(s).
  • Enforce safety standards in all areas.
  • If responsible for Total Maintenance & Repair accounts, manage these contracts to meet goals.
  • If assigned, manage the New Truck Setup operation in our shop, coordinating with the shop and Customer Support Group.
  • Investigate and document work-related injuries or accidents, including vehicular incidents involving subordinates, and submit reports to Corporate.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential skills and experience:

  • At least five years in a material handling service environment or similar industry.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and achieve results through others.
  • Management: Capable of organizing and managing multiple priorities.
  • Planning: Ability to plan over a 1-2 year horizon.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information about our products.
  • Good computer proficiency.
  • Valid Operator's License for powered industrial equipment.
  • Commitment to company vision and mission.
