Job summary

Mobile Modular Management Corporation seeks a Field Service Manager to lead service teams, work closely with sales and operations, and ensure quality and customer satisfaction in field operations.

You will spend significant time in the field with technicians and sales staff, while coordinating with internal teams to ensure code compliance and effective information flow. Strong leadership and customer-focus are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Delegate tasks, set objectives, monitor progress, and measure team performance.
  • Track field quality using monthly reports and document issues.
  • Maintain positive customer interactions to uphold the company reputation.
  • Document customer feedback from service calls to verify satisfaction.
  • Split time between field work with sales/ technicians and coordination.
  • Collaborate with QA inspectors to capture quality issues in plant and field.
  • Coordinate with project managers and sales for service opportunities.
  • Verify code compliance with Production Scheduler and local agencies.
  • Act as a technical resource for Inventory Center and stay current on codes.
  • Conduct development discussions and build development plans for team.
  • Maintain fleet records and manage up to 20 service vehicles and trailers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The specific pay rate and level, if applicable, will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, prior experience and location.

A Day in the Life

As a Field Service Manager, you will have a high level of involvement and interaction with internal and external customers in helping to solve their service needs. This role also requires work in collaboration with the inventory center supervisors and support the branch including operations and sales teams.

What You’ll Do
  • Clearly and comfortably delegate routine, important tasks, decisions and sets clear objectives and measures while monitoring process, progress, and results for the team.
  • Ensure quality control in the field is tracked and documented regularly using our current monthly tracking reports.
  • Responsible for positive interactions with the customer and ensuring the company’s reputation is upheld/improved with every customer contact.
  • Document customer comments from telephone contact with every customer that receives a building or a service call to verify customer satisfaction and performance by service technician.
  • Spending 50% of their time out in the field alongside sales reps and or service technicians, asking questions, solving problems, ensuring materials and information flow efficiently to ensure their department’s success.
  • Work closely with quality insurance inspector to document quality issues in the plant and in the field.
  • Work closely with project managers and sales reps for service-related opportunities in the field.
  • Work closely with the Production Scheduler and Supervisors to verify building and material meet current code compliance with the assistance of local inspection agencies.
  • Be one of the technical resources for the Inventory Center to include having a working knowledge of current local and state building codes.
  • Hold frequent development discussions with Service Coordinators and Technicians and is aware of each person’s career goals. Provide challenging and stretching tasks and assignments to the team and construct development plans and execute them.
  • Maintain fleet records and manage vehicle fleet including fuel, maintenance, licensing and replacement of up to 20 service vehicles and trailers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 2-3 years experience building and leading teams, motivating others and creating a strong morale and environment in which people want to do their best, by empowering others and inviting input from each person and sharing ownership and visibility.
  • Is seen as a direct, truthful individual who keeps confidences and is widely trusted.
  • Is excellent and dedicated to meeting and exceeding the expectations/requirements of internal and external customers by having effective relationships and gaining their trust and respect.
  • Has a drive for results and is action oriented; pursuing challenges with energy and can be counted on to exceed goals successfully.
  • Can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal and uses resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent at writing clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles.
  • A clear communicator who is easy to approach and talk to, someone who builds rapport well and establishes clear directions and maintains two-way dialogue with others on work and results.
  • Building/construction experience. Also picks up on technical things quickly and can learn new skills and knowledge.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
