Job description

Founded in 1985, ATS is a company with a presence in the United States, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. We are professionals in industrial maintenance and focus on optimizing factory operations.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Perform expert-level break-fix and preventative maintenance, including diagnosing device issues, dismantling for parts, examining for defects, adjusting, repairing, testing, and reconditioning equipment. CNC maintenance & repair experience highly preferred.
  2. Identify and source parts, supplies, and repair items; evaluate options to improve cost and reliability; and develop retrofit or upgrade packages.
  3. Perform maintenance independently according to industry standards; create maintenance standards and instructions for new or modified equipment.
  4. Guide customer teams in maintenance optimization, reliability, and preventive maintenance processes.
  5. Set up and operate machining tools such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, and perform welding as needed.
  6. Ensure compliance with safety, conduct, and housekeeping standards.
  7. Document work in reports and management systems; develop technical manuals and procedures related to equipment upgrades and automation.
  8. Assist and train lower-level technicians and project teams; perform expert troubleshooting and analysis of complex control systems.
  9. Use advanced technologies to monitor equipment performance, observe trends, and recommend improvements.
  10. Lead technical training programs for customers and colleagues.
  11. Follow all safety policies and identify unsafe conditions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:

Essential KSAs:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree with technical focus plus 12 years of industry-related experience, or 15 years of industry experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems; capable of analysis and repair.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, specialized tools, and programming software.
  • Extensive travel required; candidates may reside anywhere in the Continental U.S.
Desirable KSAs:
  • Experience with condition-based maintenance, mechanical alignments, automation, and process equipment maintenance.
  • Robust experience with PLCs, troubleshooting field devices, electrical drives, motors, and motion control devices.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Employees must frequently stand, walk, handle tools, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate. Occasional lifting over 50 pounds, working in loud factory environments, sometimes outdoors, and dealing with hazardous materials are expected.
