Job Title: Senior Maintenance Specialist FT M-F With Call
Supervised by: Maintenance Manager
Job Summary: Assists in maintaining the hospital's physical structure and equipment. Responsibilities include minor electrical work, mechanical repairs, and other maintenance duties. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.
Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:
- Performs tasks professionally, reflecting high integrity of the Engineering Department.
- Maintains and repairs HVAC controls and associated equipment to ensure efficiency.
- Performs urgent, routine, and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Performs maintenance on equipment and systems as needed.
- Assists in maintaining electrical wiring and emergency generator systems.
- Inspects and tests equipment/systems; performs preventive maintenance.
- Ensures compliance with building safety codes.
- Replaces, installs, repairs, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, appliances, and lighting.
- Maintains records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Performs manual duties such as moving supplies, replacing bulbs, and trash removal.
- Reads blueprints, interprets instructions, and prepares specifications.
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Possesses knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems, plant tools, and safety precautions.
- Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities, supporting a culture of safety and quality.

Requirements
Regulatory Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; two years of related experience or training; or equivalent.
- HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical certifications.
Skills
- Effective communication in English, verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer skills.
- Mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to understand and follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Problem-solving abilities involving multiple variables.
Physical Demands
- Exposure to outdoor environments and temperature changes.
- Close eye work, perception, hearing, smell, and temperature discrimination.
- Operates machinery and drives trucks.
- Frequent movement including sitting, standing, walking, bending, crawling, climbing, reaching, and lifting/carrying up to 150 pounds with assistance.
