Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Field Service Representative - Mechanical to commission water treatment plants, coordinate between design engineering and construction, and train customer staff on operation and maintenance across North America.

The role requires a Bachelor's or college diploma with 5+ years in water treatment, strong communication, and the ability to travel 70–80%; additional responsibilities include RO/ED, Ion Exchange, and thermal technologies, plus passport eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Water Treatment field.
• Strong focus on customer relationships (external and internal) and balance between customer and VEOLIA teams.
• Knowledge of and ability to learn equipment and process startup related to VEOLIA WTS products and systems (RO/ED, Ion Exchange, Thermal).
• Ability to work independently and remotely with project teams.
• Basic water treatment chemistry knowledge and ability to communicate it to others.
• Familiarity with structural, mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, piping, welding, and civil notations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must possess valid passport and be able to travel extensively (70–80% ~250 days/year) across NA and beyond.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning of Water Treatment Plans ensuring equipment and controls meet specifications.
• Liaise between design engineering and construction during erection of Water Treatment Plants.
• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives on installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at sites.
• Manage activities of outside vendors and suppliers to meet project specs and performance.
• Develop SOPs and log sheets to document and monitor equipment operation.
• Develop and execute Commissioning Schedules and Performance Plans.
• Develop and deliver classroom and hands-on training on operation and maintenance of process equipment.
• Participate in Model Reviews, Engineering Design Meetings and Safety in Design reviews for accessibility and operability.
