Job summary

Optimum Sorting is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, service and maintain equipment at customer facilities worldwide. You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, software and sorter programming issues on site or remotely, and provide post-installation training to clients.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of machinery service experience, a Bachelor's in mechanical or electrical engineering, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent by experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience as a service technician in machinery.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting (3‑phase, single‑phase, low voltage DC) and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings; forklift cert is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Office 365; Linux, PLC, Siemens S7 and computer networks are a plus.
  • Fluent English; additional language such as Spanish is a plus.
  • Problem solver with hands-on, client-centered mindset; works under pressure.
  • Flexible and adaptable to varying hours and customer availability.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service and maintain equipment at customer facilities both on site and remote.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, software and sorter programming issues.
  • Provide technical training to clients post-installation on setup and maintenance.
  • Travel 140–180 days/year; report to the service manager.
  • Share field experiences with service and engineering colleagues.
