Job summary

Element Biosciences is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support our Southeast customer base. This role will be remote-based and report to the Senior Manager, Field Service Engineering.

You'll perform onsite installation, qualification, upgrades, repairs and preventative maintenance on next-generation sequencers in the field. You will troubleshoot issues spanning chemistry, software and hardware, identify root causes and communicate effectively with customers.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in engineering, physics, biology, chemistry or related field.
• Experience with NGS sequencing instrument and sequencing run setup preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues with complex laboratory equipment involving chemistry, software and hardware.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be flexible in working hours for non-regular business hours.
• Experience servicing scientific instrumentation involving optics, fluid handling and thermal systems.

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer who will play a pivotal role supporting our growing customer base in the Southeast region . This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about customer support and winning for the team. We are looking for someone with experience troubleshooting instrument issues involving software, hardware and chemistry. Ability to repair and maintenance instruments in the field.This role will report to the Senior Manager, Field Service Engineering and will be a remote role based in Southeast region.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Providing onsite installation, qualification, upgrades, repairs and preventative maintenance service on next generation sequencers

Education and Experience:

• Associate or Bachelor Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in engineering, physics, biology, chemistry or related field (or equivalent combination of education and industry experience)
• Experience with NGS sequencing instrument and sequencing run set up preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot issues with complex laboratory equipment involving chemistry, software and hardware
• Strong time management, problem solving, organizational and relationship building skills.
• Experience servicing scientific instrumentation involving optics, fluid handling and thermal systems.
• Experience with multiple full life cycle product launches preferred
• Proficient with data collection and analysis tools (eg: in MATLAB, Python, C++ or Java) preferred
• Experience with fluorescence microscopy helpful
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including technical writing abilities.
• Must be flexible in working hours as this position may require customer support during non-regular business hours
• Demonstrated account management skills preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently moves boxes weighing up to 20 pounds

Location:

• Remote – Atlanta, Raleigh-Durham, Orlando or Pensacola are ideal

Travel:

• Domestic travel up to 80%

Job Type:

• Full-time/Non-exempt

Base Compensation Pay Range:

• $90,000 - $110,000

In addition to base compensationnoted above, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus,no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.

Please note:Base compensation will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
