Job summary

Brooks Automation is seeking a Field Service Engineer in the Manassas, VA area to install, repair and maintain complex automation equipment for semiconductor systems. The role involves working with customers, coordinating with teams, and ensuring service quality.

You may lead or support on-site, site or regional initiatives. The ideal candidate has an electro-mechanical background, 3+ years of field service experience, and proficiency with Windows/DOS on PCs.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in a technical discipline or technical certificate.
• Minimum of 3 years of electro-mechanical/electronics tech support.
• Experience with lasers and sensing devices for positioning circuitry on robotic units.
• Experience troubleshooting microelectronics schematics and digital circuits.
• Proficiency with PCs, Windows, and DOS.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, modification, repair and preventive maintenance of Brooks equipment and systems.
• Isolate and resolve complex equipment malfunctions and implement corrective action.
• Coordinate work direction for other Service Engineers and support sites as needed.
• Create reports and documentation of service activities and metrics.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior engineers and drive continuous improvement.
