This position reports to

Service Team Lead - Marine & Ports

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service, planning and executing service work as per customer order and expectation. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention through effective communication of service work timelines and expectations. The work model for this role is remote. #LI-Remote This role contributes to the Process Automation Marine & Ports division and can be located in Miramar, FL or Houston, TX. Your main responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborating with customers on-site to identify opportunities for operational improvements and pain point elimination.
  2. Performing field service tasks, diagnosing technical issues, and conducting analysis through remote or on-site activities within your certified service categories and products.
  3. Preparing material lists for service activities and ensuring all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.
  4. Acting as a trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.

Qualifications for the role
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in engineering or a technical field, with at least 2 years of marine field service experience, or a combination of education and proven accomplishments.
  • Comfort working in confined spaces, including vessels, propulsion systems, cofferdams, etc.
  • Up to 85% travel required (domestic and international, including weekends and holidays).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical engineering, or similar preferred.
  • 5+ years of marine field service experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with marine/offshore environments and procedures preferred.
  • Experience with shipyard dry docking activities preferred.
  • Knowledge of marine propulsion, power generation, and power distribution preferred.
  • Knowledge of marine hydraulic and electrical steering systems preferred.
  • Experience with confined space entry and work environments preferred.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and design technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD.
