Job summary

BW Papersystems is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, service, PLC program, and troubleshoot capital equipment in the paper industry. This role involves extensive travel (75‑100%) across the United States, with training provided at Wisconsin facilities and housing included.

After training, you may live anywhere in the US and travel to customer sites. Requires a BS in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field, hands‑on PLC experience, and strong customer relations;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, Controls, or related field.
• Hands‑on PLC programming, debugging, and troubleshooting experience required.
• Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and control systems required.
• Good mechanical aptitude and strong customer relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Program, debug, and troubleshoot PLC systems and other automation controls to optimize machine performance.
• Troubleshoot customer equipment issues on-site and provide effective solutions.
• Assist with on-site installations, commissioning, and upgrades of machinery.
• Diagnose electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical issues during servicing.
• Train customer operation and maintenance personnel in PLC systems and safety.
• Maintain detailed installation reports and service documentation.
• Use assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, PLC ladder logic, and machine manuals for installations.
• Identify and report defective materials and equipment.
• Perform additional duties as needed; maintain a clean, safe work environment.
