Job summary

TOMRA Mining seeks a Field Service Engineer in Mining Service based in the Denver region to commission, maintain and troubleshoot sorting equipment at customer sites across North America.

The role involves extensive travel (150–180 days/year), on-site support, remote diagnostics, and training of customer personnel; you will collaborate with internal teams to ensure high equipment performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification or trade with hands-on mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Electrical qualification/trade would be highly advantageous.
  • 3+ years in field service, maintenance and troubleshooting of complex equipment.
  • Customer-focused with strong English communication; Spanish advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, test, operate, maintain, repair, troubleshoot and upgrade sorting equipment.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain regular on-site presence to meet service SLAs.
  • Train and support customer maintenance personnel for equipment operation.
  • Deliver phone support and field response; participate in on-call roster.
  • Drive continuous improvement for quality, efficiency and profitability.
  • Coordinate with customers and internal teams for integration of TOMRA equipment.
  • Collaborate with Applications and Engineering Design teams in NA and internationally.

We are currently seeking for a Field Service Engineer in Mining Service based in the Denver region

responsible for commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our systems at customer sites.

The role involves extensive travel(150–180 days/year) across North America to remote customer sites, supporting equipment performance, providing remote assistance, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.

  • Perform field service activities, including the installation, commissioning, testing, operation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and upgrade of sorting equipment.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term success.
  • Maintain a regular on-site presence to ensure customer service level agreements are consistently achieved.
  • Train and support customer maintenance and service personnel to ensure effective equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure field service activities are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget.
  • Deliver technical phone support and field response to customer and equipment issues, including participation in a rostered weekend on-call schedule.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities and providing feedback to enhance quality, efficiency, and profitability
  • Coordinate with customers and internal project teams to support the successful integration of TOMRA sorting equipment, from point of sale through to commissioning and post-commissioning activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Applications and Engineering Design, both within North Americaand internationally, to support customer and project requirements.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture by demonstrating and promoting professional, collaborative behaviours.
  • An engineering qualification or trade with a strong inclination towards hands on skills in mechanical and electrical systems, both hardware and software.
  • An electrical qualification or trade would be highly advantageous
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently and efficiently
  • >3 years proven experience in field service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex technical equipment
  • Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively across North Americaand occasionally internationally(approx. 150–180 days per year)
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Other languages like Spanish are advantageous
  • Comfortable using digital tools, service reporting systems, and remote diagnostics
  • Valid Drivers licence
  • Valid authority to work in US

Pay Band

For U.S. applicants, in accordance with applicable disclosure requirements, the anticipated annual base pay range for the Field Service Engineer position is $70,000 - $85,000. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. As with certain positions in the organization, this role is eligible for additional forms of compensation.
