Job summary

Dexterity, an enterprise Physical AI company based in Redwood City, designs robotic systems for complex logistics. As a Field Service Engineer, you will keep Dexterity's robotic systems running in live customer warehouses, performing hands-on servicing, preventive maintenance, and rapid hardware/software troubleshooting.

You will be the primary technical point of contact on site, ensuring uptime and achieving customer performance goals, with travel up to 50% and opportunities to train customer

Qualifications

• BS or AAS in robotics or related engineering field, or equivalent practical field service experience.
• Hands-on experience repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems on automation or industrial control equipment.
• Proficiency with Linux/CLI, log analysis, and basic networking troubleshooting.
• Strong sense of urgency and collaboration in fast-paced production environments.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and work extended hours for go-lives and maintenance windows.

Responsibilities

• On-site servicing, preventive maintenance, component replacements, and system upgrades.
• Perform root-cause analysis on hardware, sensors, and control circuits using multimeters and scopes.
• Diagnose operational anomalies using Linux/CLI, logs, and networking diagnostics.
• Lead hardware installation, software commissioning, testing, and calibration during new deployments.
• Assist with spare parts inventories, RCAs, and refurbish components following repair protocols.
• Document field issues, tickets, and trends; communicate feedback to HQ engineering.
