Job summary

Quest Industrial LLC, with production locations in Middleton and Monroe, WI, is seeking a talented Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and repair complex automated packaging equipment. The role requires robust knowledge of Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and robotics, plus the ability to travel extensively to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
• Hands-on automation and robotics experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 95%.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customers’ facilities to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex machinery and equipment.
• Train customers’ operators and technicians on machine setup, operation, change-over, and maintenance.
• Provide technical support and assistance to customers via phone, remote connection, or on-site for electrical/controls, mechanical, and robotic equipment and systems.
• Modify and troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programs for existing packaging equipment.
• Commission, test, and debug robotic and automated packaging systems.
• Provide on-call emergency service and maintain communication while in the field.
• Prepare detailed trip reports for the company and customers, documenting encountered issues and solutions.
• Maintain records of service calls, training, expenses.
• Ensure compliance with inspection, testing, quality specifications during machine installations and integrations.
• Identify and correct hardware and software discrepancies in machinery and equipment.
• Maintain positive customer relationships and identify opportunities for product improvements and parts sales.
