You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair fielded systems, serving as the customer liaison on technical matters, and coaching junior staff. Travel to customer sites is required up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Master's degree in engineering.
  • 7+ years of field service engineering or related technical support.
  • Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex equipment and systems in an operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of hardware, software, and network components.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision in field environments.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation, checkout, and sustainment of fielded systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair equipment in operational environments.
  • Instruct customers on operation and maintenance.

As a Field Service Engineer III, you will:Perform on-site product and solution installation, checkout, and sustainment activities for fielded systemsDiagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair complex equipment and systems in operational environmentsServe as the company liaison with the customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projectsInstruct customers in the proper operation and maintenance of fielded solutionsInterpret customer needs, define next steps, and clarify responsibility for problem resolutionSupport any aspect of field support, including system hardware, software, network, and other technical infrastructure componentsResponsibilities:Oversee and/or perform diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair activities for complex fielded equipment and systemsCheck out and approve the operational quality of solution components prior to customer acceptanceProvide hands-on technical training and instruction to customer personnel on system operation and maintenanceServe as the primary technical point of contact for field-level customer support activitiesCoordinate with engineering, logistics, and program management teams to resolve field issues and minimize system downtimeDocument field service activities, maintenance actions, and equipment status in accordance with program reporting requirementsSupport system upgrades, technology refresh, and configuration changes at customer sitesCoach and review the work of lower-level field service technicians and engineersWork independently with limited supervision while managing field service projects and processesInfluence system design, solutions, and procedures based on field experience and customer feedbackTravel to various customer and operational sites as required to support field service and sustainment activitiesQualifications:Required:Active Secret security clearance (required)Master's degree in an Engineering discipline7+ years of professional experience in field service engineering or related technical supportDemonstrated experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex equipment and systems in an operational environmentStrong understanding of system hardware, software, and network infrastructure componentsExperience serving as a technical liaison between customers and engineering/program teamsAbility to work independently with limited supervision in field environmentsStrong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to instruct customers on system operation and maintenanceDemonstrated ability to coach and review the work of lower-level technical staffExcellent problem-solving skills with ability to resolve difficult and sometimes complex technical issuesWillingness and ability to travel to customer and operational sites as requiredDesired:Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibilityExperience supporting C5ISR, SIGINT, EW, or intelligence systems in a field environmentFamiliarity with CMOSS/MORA interface standards and VPX architecturesExperience with system integration, testing, and acceptance proceduresKnowledge of preventive maintenance practices and logistics support planningExperience with technical documentation, including field service reports and maintenance logsFamiliarity with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and secure system configurationsUnderstanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes as they relate to fielded systemsPrevious experience supporting government program offices or defense contractorsExperience training end-users on system operation and troubleshooting techniquesKnowledge of tactical communications, networking, or RF systems-What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity.At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
