Job summary

Carl Zeiss Meditec USA, Inc. in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Field Support Engineer II to install, repair, upgrade and perform preventative maintenance on Zeiss instrumentation within a designated field service territory.

You will represent ZEISS at customer sites, manage company property and inventory, schedule visits, submit field service and expense reports, support service revenue growth, and maintain professional communication with customers, Sales and Technical Support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Electronics, Fine Mechanics, Optics or Medical Field Service.
• BS in Electronics, Engineering, or Computer Technology preferred.
• A+ and Net+ certification preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair designated products within an assigned service territory; includes preventive maintenance, installations and upgrades per training and guidelines.
• Schedule, verify and modify customer visits based on needs; assess potential financial impact and patient well-being.
• Submit field service reports daily and weekly expense reports per procedures.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and return parts per policy.
• Support revenue growth through service agreements; engage with customers professionally.
