Job summary

ZEISS Group is seeking a Field Support Engineer II to service Carl Zeiss Meditec instrumentation in a defined field territory. You will install, repair, upgrade, and perform preventive maintenance while representing ZEISS at customer sites to ensure high satisfaction.

The role requires 3+ years in electronics or related fields, a BS in a technical area, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. Based in Fairfax, VA with Southeast territory coverage and periodic overnight travel.

Qualifications

Three years of related experience in Electronics, Fine Mechanics, Optics or Medical Field Service.
BS in Electronics, Engineering, or Computer Technology preferred.
A+ and Net+ certifications preferred.
Ability to resolve difficult customer issues and achieve satisfaction.
Self-direction and independent work with limited oversight.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Solid computer skills.
Willingness to complete required training for equipment service.
Excellent time and project management skills.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair designated products within assigned service territory, including maintenance, installations and upgrades.
Schedule and verify customer visits based on needs and potential financial impact.
Submit field service reports daily following procedures.
Submit weekly expense reports.
Maintain inventory and return spare parts per policy.
Promote and retain service agreements to support revenue growth.
Interact with customers in a professional, calm manner.
Instruct customers in operation and maintenance of equipment.
