Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Field Service Engineer to deliver on-site installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs of industrial equipment across a range of environments. You will diagnose complex issues, optimize performance, and guide customers on operation and maintenance.

Travel is required to customer sites, sometimes overnight, with a focus on safety and service excellence. In this role you will mentor junior engineers, document service activities, and collaborate with engineering,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• 3–5 years of experience supporting or repairing complex industrial equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repair activities on industrial equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and software issues.
• Provide expert technical support and guidance at customer facilities.
• Deliver training on operation, maintenance, and optimization.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and support teams to improve outcomes.
• Maintain service documentation, repair records, and spare parts inventory.
• Communicate updates and findings clearly to customers.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Perform installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repair activities on industrial equipment and systems.

Your Background

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience supporting, maintaining, or repairing complex industrial equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to solve complex technical challenges independently.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
