Job summary

Flow International Corporation seeks a Field Service Engineer I to provide professional technical support for waterjet cutting and surface prep systems. The role involves frequent travel to customer sites to troubleshoot and repair equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

The engineer will maintain technical documentation, assist with parts identification, and collaborate with Flow distributors, often working with tight deadlines and on-call hours as required.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Electronics, Robotics or Mech. Eng. or a minimum of 2 years college/technical school training.
• 1-3 years of service-related experience with Robotics, Motion Control Systems, CNC tools, or related capital equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Ability to travel internationally, including Canada.
• Experience in CNC programming.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, plumbing, pneumatic, electrical and electronic skills.
• Independent judgment to analyze and solve technical problems.
• Proficient with Windows, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers on operation, troubleshooting, part identification, and repair of Flow equipment at customer locations and via phone/email.
• Complete administrative documentation in a timely manner.
• Adhere to RMA policy and document defects.
• Assist in maintaining Flow product documentation library (drawings, A-sheets, manuals, specs).
• Assist customer service by determining required parts.
• Travel to customer locations, often >90% travel, on short notice.
• On-call availability after hours/holidays as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and establish preventative maintenance schedules.
