Job summary

GE HealthCare in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Field Engineer I to perform on-time preventive maintenance across modalities, assist with equipment installation, and learn troubleshooting techniques. You will work with experienced engineers onsite and remotely to drive service excellence and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include handling PMs, FMIs/ISIs, basic troubleshooting, parts ordering, and maintaining service records.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR GEHC internship or externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of servicing electronic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to complete on-time and accurate Preventative Maintenance, FMIs and/or ISIs.
• Assist more experienced field engineers with equipment installation.
• Work with experienced field engineers on basic troubleshooting and service repair needs on designated equipment.
• Effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues.
• Learn to communicate with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
• Partner with the customer and recommend value-added services to help their business run more efficiently.
• Maintain customer service logs and internal service records, order parts, and manage cycle times.
• Use GEHC escalation process and coordinate with regional support to resolve issues promptly.
• Serve as a member of the account community for key accounts and engage commercial counterparts for potential sales leads.
• Focus on customer needs and strengthen the customer relationship to become a partner in their business.
• Stay updated on competitor information and market trends.
• Answer service calls independently within one year of employment.
