Job summary

Eurofins USA BioPharma Services in North Brunswick Township, NJ is seeking a Field Service Engineer (FSE I/II) to calibrate, maintain and repair laboratory instruments such as pipettes, balances, and thermometers.

The role requires traveling to customer sites, managing parts inventory, and ensuring all service is documented in compliance with GDP and SOPs. A 2-year science degree and 0–3 years of experience, plus a valid driver’s license, are required.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in a related science field (e.g., chemistry, analytical chemistry, electronic engineering, biotechnology, or similar).
• 0-1 years (FSE I) or 1-3 years (FSE II) related Field Service experience preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license and ability to travel within customer territory 1-2 days per week; overnight travel as needed.
• Clear, respectful, and timely verbal and written communication; GDP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibrations, preventive maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment (pipettes, balances, centrifuges, thermometers).
• Travel to customer sites to perform calibrations and PMs as necessary.
• Manage personal parts inventory and report issues impacting service delivery; complete paperwork promptly.
• Follow SOPs and GDP; maintain confidentiality and effective communication with clients and internal/external parties.

The FSE I/II performs Calibrations/Qualifications and some repairs on small laboratory instrumentation, including pipettes, balances, timers and thermometers.

• Perform calibration, preventative maintenance and repair both in the field and in the lab of various types of laboratory equipment including pipettes, balances, centrifuges and thermometers.
• Travel to customer sites to perform calibrations and PM’s as necessary.
• Manage personal parts inventory effectively.
• Provide feedback to Manager regarding any issue impacting service delivery, particularly issues impacting turnaround times.
• Complete administrative paperwork and reports promptly and accurately.
• Follow good documentation practices (GDP) as applicable to daily activities.
• Contact customers on time and schedule service efficiently.
• Adhere to environmental health and safety guidelines.
• Effectively communicate with clients and other internal and external parties.
• Follow Eurofins work policies and all applicable SOPs. Ensure that training on both remains current.
• Maintain client confidentiality, specifically if information about the customer is obtained from sources other than the customer (e.g. complainant, assessors).
• Act impartially within the management system.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in a related science field (e.g., chemistry, analytical chemistry, electronic engineering, biotechnology, or similar) plus 0-1 years (FSE I) or 1-3 years (FSE II) experience in a related field, preferably as a Field Service Technician
• Experience in providing calibrations on pipettes and/or balances (FSE II).
• Physical ability to lift and transport equipment and perform tasks in various lab environments
• Clear, respectful, and timely verbal and written communication
• Experience with technical troubleshooting and problem solving
• Must be self-motivated and proactive
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to travel within customer territory to 1-2 days per week Monday-Friday. Overnight travel as needed.

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of North Brunswick Township, NJare encouraged to apply.

The pay range of this position is $27/h - $34/h depending on related experience and qualification.
