Job summary

QuidelOrtho is seeking a Field Engineer I in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This field-based role includes a company car, gas card, cellphone and laptop, with all vehicle maintenance covered.

The incumbent will service customers across the South Carolina territory, starting with Rochester, NY training travel. The role requires 4+ years in installing, operating, maintaining and repairing electromechanical equipment, strong teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree in Electronics or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or ~4 years of field service experience.
• Experience: 4 years installing, operating, maintaining, repairing and modifying electromechanical equipment (field preferred).
• Team player, self-motivated, communicates clearly with peers, sales and customers.
• Strong technical knowledge across electro-mechanical, chemistry, computer disciplines.
• Ability to manage workload within time constraints; lift up to 75 lbs; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify electromechanical equipment in field settings.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and system issues; determine solutions per product and customer specs.
• Conduct technical analysis on implementations and enhancements per customer specs.
• Assess customer needs and recommend solutions per product and customer specs.
• Provide on-site training and product briefings; act as local on-site representative; manage territory responsibilities including preventive maintenance and upgrades.

Education

Associate's degree in Electronics or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent 4 years of military or field service experience
