Job summary

QuidelOrtho is seeking a Field Engineer I to support customers across the South Carolina territory from the Myrtle Beach area. This field-based role includes a company car, gas card, cell phone, and laptop, with all vehicle maintenance covered by the company.

The candidate will install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify electromechanical equipment in hospital and clinic settings, travel 50–75% initially and up to 75% long-term, with training in Rochester, NY.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum of an Associate's degree in Electronics or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent 4 years of military or field service experience required.
• Experience: Minimum 4 years experience installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and modifying electromechanical equipment, preferably in the field.
• A team player that is self-motivated & interacts appropriately with peers, sales counterparts, and customers is required.
• Must have the ability to lift 75 lbs and possess a valid driver's license.
• Travel: Overnight travel 50–75% to Rochester, NY in training; up to 75% travel around territory thereafter.
• Not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify electromechanical equipment in the field.
• Determine technical solutions per product and customer specifications.
• Conduct technical analysis of product implementations and provide recommendations.
• Provide on-site service and support to customers and manage territory responsibilities.
• Provide training and briefings to customers, vendors and company staff as needed.
• Oversee parts management, online training, and expense reporting.
