Location: Remote - can be based out of AZ, OR, ID, OH, TX or NY.

Pay: $38.00 - $43.00 per hour, DOE

We are seeking Field Service Engineers to support nationwide customers.

*Must be willing to travel to Japan 1-3 months after hire date to participate in a 2-year training program.*

The Mission of a Field Service Engineer is to install, modify and service complex semiconductor industry high vacuum equipment and systems, as well as evaluate, troubleshoot and resolve design issues related to such installations and servicing of Company products at all types of customer field sites. The role also provides a wide range of basic-to-advanced technical assistance to customers and fellow employees to ensure the accomplishment of scheduled work assignments and customer satisfaction by performing the following duties. In addition, part of your mission is to ensure that the business operates in line with the Company goals.

What you'll do:

  • Working from engineering drawings, schematics and technical manuals, perform hands-on field service duties at customer sites, including on-site installations of systems, upgrades and retrofits; diagnosis, preventative maintenance and repairs of complex electronic and mechanical systems; debugging; etc.
  • Recommend to customers, fellow employees and factory personnel, equipment modifications or improvements to methods and/or maintenance schedules to enhance the operation and performance of the equipment.
  • In a timely manner, submit all necessary documentation, including timesheets, expense reports, and weekly update field service reports as dictated by company policies, procedures and practices.
  • Maintain technical proficiency and troubleshooting skills to be thoroughly knowledgeable in and capable of correcting problems with electronic, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical assembly, drive mechanism, and software systems for all equipment.
  • Take an active role in training less-experienced field service engineers.
  • Act as a key link to customer satisfaction by handling a wide variety of customer service problems, including orders or complaints for installation, failures, investigations in service, and solicitation of additional service.
