Job summary

Praetorian Power Protection in Seattle, WA is seeking a Field Service Engineer to troubleshoot, test, commission, and maintain electrical power systems across data centers, commercial buildings, and industrial sites. The role requires independent work and travel nationwide with potential international assignments.

Responsibilities include acceptance testing of high- and medium-voltage equipment, starting up switchgear up to 500 kV, and interpreting power studies.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of electrical testing experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and three-line drawings.
  • Experience with low-, medium- and high-voltage systems.
  • Proficiency with safety practices including LOTO.
  • Record test data accurately and work safely in various sites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform acceptance and maintenance testing on electrical power distribution equipment.
  • Start-up services on switchgear and electrical systems up to 500 kV.
  • Troubleshoot systems and components up to 500 kV.
  • Read and interpret complex power system studies (short circuit, arc flash, etc.).
  • Accurately record test data and maintain client relationships.
