The Field Service Engineer – Drives is responsible for executing a variety of service and commissioning tasks to ensure the successful installation, integration, and maintenance of low and medium voltage drive systems. This role includes both on-site and remote technical support for commissioning activities, routine maintenance, emergency troubleshooting, and system optimization.

Field Service Engineer – Drives Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site troubleshooting to diagnose drive system issues and implement corrective actions.

• Prepare documentation to support fieldwork, including commissioning procedures, maintenance logs, and service reports.

• Perform on-site installation and commissioning of low and medium voltage drives from various manufacturers.

• Lead and coordinate small projects on-site to ensure technical objectives and customer satisfaction are achieved.

• Work under the direction of senior engineers to execute technical tasks ensuring the integrity and functionality of drive systems.

• Deliver training and guidance to end users on system operations and maintenance.

• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., technical services, spare parts, engineering, and sales) to provide comprehensive customer support.

• Recommend system upgrades, parts replacements, and service options to improve performance and reliability.

• Plan and coordinate regular maintenance and inspection activities with customers.

• Support engineering teams on project design and execution for customer-specific solutions.

• Identify opportunities for reliability improvements and recommend service offerings to enhance equipment availability.

• Promote preventive maintenance services and identify potential upselling opportunities during service visits.

• Provide 24/7 on-call technical support when required and ensure a timely response to service requests.

• Submit accurate service documentation and comply with administrative procedures.

• Contribute to business development efforts and marketing initiatives.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to meet operational needs.

Field Service Engineer – Drives PositionRequirements

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 85%), including short-notice assignments.

• Ability to work offshore or aboard marine vessels in compliance with strict safety guidelines.

• Capable of working extended hours, including overtime during peak or emergency periods.

• Comfortable with working in industrial environments, including exposure to mechanical, electrical, or weather-related hazards.

• Must meet physical fitness requirements for offshore access and survival training (e.g., HUET certification).

• Proficiency in verbal and written communication, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

• Must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.

Field Service Engineer – Drives Position Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent field experience with additional years in drive systems).

• At least 3 years of experience working with drive systems from major OEMs (e.g., MV7000, SD7000, MV3000, MD2000, LV7000).

• Familiarity with industrial controllers and system interfaces (e.g., PEC, PECe, CDC).

• Ability to handle complex field assignments requiring technical expertise and independent judgment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools for documentation and reporting.
