Job summary

Danaher Corporation’s Beckman Coulter Field Service Engineer role is remote and covers New England, upstate New York, Quebec, parts of Ontario and the Maritimes.

You will service Beckman Coulter instruments at customer facilities, cultivate relationships, and drive fast issue resolution with a first-time fix mindset.

Travel may be up to 70% with domestic focus and occasional international travel; this is a full-time role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

About the Role

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for customer satisfaction in all aspects of the job. Increased throughput, decreased downtime, regular preventive maintenance, regular upgrades as deemed by Beckman Coulter technical staff. A clear advocate for the customer (internal and external) and a steward for the company. This position reports to the District Service Manager and is part of the Life Sciences Service Organization.

This position will work remotely to cover all of New England, upstate New York as well as Quebec, a portion of Ontario, and Maritimes.

We partner with customers across the globe to help them solve their most complex challenges, architecting solutions that bring the power of science to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Servicing Beckman Coulter products at the customer facility.
• Cultivating customer relationships and supporting commercial initiatives.
• Driving a sense of urgency to ensure the customer needs are addressed promptly with an emphasis on a "first time fix" through the problem-solving process.

Qualifications and Experience

• Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, biomedical engineering, life science OR equivalent military experience (working on any mechanical, technical, laboratory, pneumatic or any related instruments).
• 1+ year’s experience problem solving, diagnosing, or troubleshooting challenges with instrumentation using a variety of methods.

Travel and Physical Requirements

• This position requires up to 70% flying and/or driving travel, which includes overnight stays. Travel will primarily be domestic but may occasionally be international.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Requires ability to regularly lift, move, slide, raise and/or place up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to stand, walk (prolonged), sit; squat and kneel, ascend and descend stairs; reach with hands and arms.

Compensation

The hourly range for this role is $35.00-$37.00 per hour. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
