  • Willingness to travel.

Position Summary

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments seeks a Field Service Engineer to provide exceptional service and support for our analytical instrumentation. In this role, you will repair, maintain, and verify performance of assigned products, including demo equipment and instruments returned from customers.

Job Functions
  • Provide daily repair and maintenance support for assigned products.
  • Conduct in‑house bench repairs as needed while primarily handling field service calls with limited supervision.
  • Travel within the local region (including day and overnight trips) to support customer needs.
  • Offer technical support via phone to customers and field personnel regarding repairs, maintenance, and installations.
Education and Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • At least four years of experience repairing analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, GC, LCMS, AA, or similar instruments.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of these technologies.
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
  • Willingness to travel.

Compensation & Benefits

Full‑time, non‑exempt position with a comprehensive benefits package. First year includes 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days, 8 paid scheduled holidays, and 3 paid floating holidays. After one year, eligible for a short‑term disability program with company covering 100 % of monthly premiums. Starting salary $75 000 to $77 000, paid semi‑monthly. Overtime and double time applicable. Variable compensation includes a 10 % incentive plan based on performance, paid semi‑annually, and a discretionary year‑end bonus. Position includes a company car with fuel card (deduction per pay), company‑paid cell phone.
