Job summary

GE HealthCare in Florida seeks a Field Engineer 1 to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on medical equipment across Gainesville, Ocala, Orlando, and Daytona areas. The role may involve home-office time and a 2nd shift from 12 pm–9 pm, with travel for training and customer-focused service delivery.

You will work with experienced field engineers to learn troubleshooting, installation, and service techniques, while maintaining strong customer relationships and handling

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education to an Associate’s/Bachelor’s; OR GEHC internship/externship path; OR High School Diploma with 2 years service experience.
• Experience with Web applications as well as Microsoft suite of products.
• Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift and be available after-hours and/or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends for critical issues.
• Willingness to travel for training.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Learn to complete on-time Preventative Maintenance, FMIs and/or Corrective Repairs.
• Assist more experienced field engineers with equipment installation.
• Troubleshoot and service designated equipment with guidance from senior staff.
• Communicate effectively with teammates and customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Create and debrief customer service reports, order parts, and manage cycle times.
• Engage with commercial counterparts and assist with revenue programs when appropriate.
