Job summary

Staffbase Ltd. in the United Kingdom seeks a home-based Field Service Engineer to install, service and repair CNC woodworking machinery across the country.

You will perform electrical installations, fault finding, machine commissioning and routine maintenance with a strong focus on safety and customer service. You should have an electrical bias, multiskilled experience in automated machinery, and qualifications such as NVQ3, HNC in electrical engineering or 17th/18th edition.

Qualifications

• Electrical installations, machine fault finding and repair.
• Motors, servos, 415V and 24V circuits; reading schematics essential.
• Control panels, wiring, PLC fault finding and repair.

Responsibilities

• Machine installation and commissioning.
• Mechanical maintenance and repair of components (chains, sprockets, bearings, ball screws).
• Provide on-site electrical maintenance and service throughout the UK.
• Deliver high standards of customer service and communication.

Job description

Our client is a very successful distributor of CNC woodworking machinery and due to their continued business growth Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer. Basic £40K -£42K + OT Door to door (OTE £47K -£50K) The successful candidate will operate as a 'home based' field engineer responsible for machine installation, service and repair activities throughout the UK.

The Role:

Reporting to the service manager you will be responsible for effective delivery of professional electrical maintenance, service and repair of CNC woodworking machinery.

Duties:

• Electrical installations, machine fault find and repair
• Motors, servos, 415v and 24v circuits (ability to read electrical schematics/drawings is essential)
• Contactors, sensors, relays, switches etc etc
• Control panels, wiring
• Plc fault find and repair
• Machine installation & commissioning
• Mechanical maintenance and repair, removal and replacement on broken and worn component parts such as chains, sprockets, linear bearings, and ball screws.

Candidate:

You will be a multiskilled engineer ideally electrical bias and you will previous experience in a field service engineer position. You will have previous experience in maintenance service and repair of automated / semi-automated machinery. Applicants will be electrically qualified e.g. NVQ3, HNC in electrical engineering or 17th /18th edition certification. You will demonstrate good customer service and communication skills and you will be of a friendly disposition.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday 40 hours + OT door to door pay Only occasional nights away from home
