Job summary

TRUMPF Inc. in Plymouth, MI seeks a mobile service technician to install, repair and support TRUMPF equipment across North America.

You will join the technical service group, participate in 5–6 months of training, and travel 100% domestically and internationally as needed. The role requires a two-year technical degree or equivalent, 2+ years in technical service, strong electrical/computer systems skills, and experience with robotics or automation.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent training/experience.
• 2+ years in technical service, field service, repair or customer service.
• Strong electrical and computer systems experience and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems or mechatronics.
• Experience with TRUMPF equipment is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis and communicate findings clearly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support TRUMPF customers in North America as part of the technical service group.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair TRUMPF equipment with high quality.
• Participate in training lasting approximately 5 - 6 months with ongoing product training.
• Complete basic retrofits, software installations and customer training.
• Complete paperwork on time with high quality.
• Work independently to resolve technical problems and maintain good relationships with customers.
• Provide on-call 24/7 telephone support as required as part of rotating on-call duties.
• Must be located or able to relocate to Plymouth, MI.
• Travel 100% domestically and internationally as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Support TRUMPF customers in North America as a part of the technical service group.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair TRUMPF equipment with high quality.
• Participate in training lasting approximately 5 - 6 months, with on-going training on existing and new products.
• Complete basic retrofits, software installations and customer training.
• Complete paperwork on time with high quality.
• Work independently to resolve technical problems and maintain good relationship to customers
• Provide on-call 24/7 telephone support as required, as a part of rotating on-call support
• Must be located, or able to relocate to Plymouth, MI
• 100% travel both domestically and internationally as required.

Education & Experience

• Two-year technical degree in engineering or related field preferred, or combination of training and work experience
• 2 or more years of experience in technical service, field service, repair or customer service required
• Strong electrical and computer systems experience and high level of diagnostic skills
• Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems or mechatronics required.
• Experience with TRUMPF equipment considered advantageous.
• Must have strong problem-solving and excellent organization skills
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis, document findings and explain to both external and internal customers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay Range:

$32.70 to 44.24
