You may be interested in the Field Service Engineer position we have available! Join a team that supports 24/7 data center maintenance for local customers, focusing on delivering exceptional service with each interaction.
This role involves driving to customer sites within a 100-mile radius using your own vehicle, with travel expenses reimbursed. Periodic training and occasional out-of-state travel are also part of the role.
What you’ll do:
Customer Service
- Perform maintenance and repairs on data center hardware, including mid-to-high-end servers and storage devices
- Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Respond quickly and efficiently to customer needs, providing exceptional service
- Communicate confidently to ensure customer support and address concerns
- Identify and escalate potential technical issues proactively
- Assist with data center relocations and inventory audits
Technical Knowledge
- Interpret maintenance manuals and collaborate with engineers to resolve complex issues
- Troubleshoot technical problems efficiently while managing multiple tasks
- Stay updated on industry advancements through training and certifications
- Serve as a technical expert during sales calls when needed
- Document and share resolutions to improve team knowledge and efficiency
Account Management
- Prepare thorough audits and maintain documentation of service calls
- Proactively analyze and prepare for service calls for quick, effective solutions
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, expenses, and customer interactions
- Collaborate with internal teams including purchasing, operations, and sales
What we’re looking for:
- Strong troubleshooting skills with basic knowledge of computer hardware
- Availability for on-call rotation to support customer needs
- Prior field service experience is a plus but not required
- A+ and/or Server Plus certifications are preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and reaching
