Job summary

Scientific Research Corporation seeks a Field Service Engineer at Cannon AFB to perform complex avionics maintenance, installation, testing, and troubleshooting on electronic systems used by Air Force communications and surveillance assets.

The role requires five years of avionics experience, ability to operate as a lone maintainer at CONUS/OCONUS sites (including hostile environments), and a TS/SCI eligibility with DoD SIGINT familiarity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years avionics maintenance/JTWS/DoD SIGINT
• Ability to operate as single maintainer CONUS/OCONUS including hostile areas
• CompTIA Security+ certified or within 12 months

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, test, modify, assemble, maintain and repair electronic systems and avionics equipment
• Evaluate components, subsystems, test equipment, and software
• Provide technical support to Air Force on operations and maintenance of assigned communications/surveillance equipment
• Install, troubleshoot, and test equipment on aircraft
• Support flight tests and engineering evaluations of new systems and configurations
• Train junior electronics technicians and Air Force personnel in fabrication, assembly, test and documentation
• Deploy worldwide with AFSOC personnel in exercises and contingencies including hostile environments

Field Service Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of technical functions in support of engineering activities such as troubleshooting, testing, modification, assembly, and maintenance and repair of electronic systems and other specialized avionics equipment
• Evaluate components, subsystems, test equipment, and software
• Provide technical support to Air Force customers on operations and maintenance of assigned communications/surveillance equipment
• Perform aircraft installation, troubleshooting, and testing of equipment
• Support aircraft flight test and engineering evaluations of new systems and system configurations
• Assist in training junior level electronics technicians and Air Force personnel to perform general fabrication, assembly, test and evaluation, and documentation tasks
• Deploy worldwide with AFSOC personnel in support of exercise and contingency operations, including hostile environments

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of aircraft avionics maintenance experience, JTWS equipment experience, or equivalent DoD SIGINT experience
• Must be able to operate as a single maintainer at either CONUS or OCONUS locations, including hostile areas

Desired Skills

• Eight plus years of experience with AFSOC, AF or DoD SIGINT/COMINT, EW, Guidance & Control or Comm/Nav systems
• Knowledge of AF and AFSOC organizational structure
• Knowledge of DoD SIGINT/COMINT employment concepts
• Familiarity with USAF, AFSOC aircraft maintenance concepts, practices, and procedures
• CompTIA Security+ certified or within 12 months

Clearance Information

SRC is a contractor for the U.S. Government, this position requires U.S. citizenship and a U.S. Government security clearance at the Top Secret level with Top Secret/SCI eligibility.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 50% including OCONUS deployments and CONUS TDYs
