Job summary

Veterans Prime, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support CNC lathes and machining centers from a home base with regional travel.

You will diagnose, repair, install, and test equipment, then train customer operators on function, maintenance, and safety. A strong emphasis on documenting activity and staying hands-on with emerging technologies is required.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree (mechanical, electrical, or machine tool technology) or equivalent military technical experience.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment; PLCs a plus.
• Ability to read engineering drawings/schematics; skilled with diagnostic tools.

Field Service Engineer – CNC & Industrial Machinery

Compensation: $80,000–$100,000 + BenefitsType: Full-Time | Travel-Based

You will work independently from your home base, providing expert support for advanced CNC Lathes and Machining Centers. This is a hands-on role where you will be the "go-to" technical expert for our customers.

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, software, and hydraulic/pneumatic issues on CNC machinery.
• Install & Test: Perform post-installation testing to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Train & Educate: Conduct on-site training for customer operators on machine function, maintenance, and safety.
• Document: Accurately log service activity, diagnostics, parts, and resolutions.
• Travel: Manage a regional travel schedule with regular overnight stays to support customer sites.

What You Need

• Education: 2-year technical degree (mechanical, electrical, or machine tool technology) or equivalent military technical experience or demonstrated experience in the maintenance field.
• Experience: Proven ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment; proficiency with PLCs is a plus.
• Skills: Ability to read engineering drawings/schematics; skilled in using diagnostic tools (gauges, test indicators, force meters).
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills; capable of working independently.
