Job summary

Averna is seeking a Field Service Engineer to lead on-site installation, validation, and maintenance of automated equipment. You will train end-users, troubleshoot complex systems, and coordinate with design engineers to implement improvements.

Role requires English fluency, PLC and machine vision expertise, and willingness to travel. The position supports a hybrid work model after an initial on-site period and involves collaboration with international teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLC development in automation environments.
• Proficient in calibration procedures for precision assembly machines with vision-guided motion.
• Strong knowledge of machine vision systems and debugging, calibration, and configuration.
• Experience with motion systems, tuning motors, and ensuring repeatability and stability.
• Experience with 6-axis robot use and configuration.
• Familiarity with LabVIEW applications and Beckhoff PLC IO and motion applications.
• Fluent in English speaking and writing.
• Experience in manufacturing environments.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or related fields.
• Ability to travel for projects and work with international colleagues and customers.

The Field Service Engineer in a few words

Responsible for local field service of the project, including but not limited to the software, hardware or system debugging of automated equipment.

Work Arrangement Timeline

First 6 months: 100% On‑Site (Client Location)

Thereafter: Hybrid (Remote + On‑Site as Required)

Qualifications

Qualification and required work experience

• Experience in PLC and computer‑controlled production equipment with complex processes.
• Advanced knowledge of calibration procedures for precision assembly machines with vision‑guided motion.
• Advanced knowledge of machine vision systems and how to debug, calibrate, and configure them.
• Advanced knowledge of motion systems and how to tune motors and check motion repeatability and stability.
• Advanced knowledge of 6‑axis robot use and configuration.
• Knowledge of LabVIEW applications and Beckhoff PLC IO and motion applications.
• Fluent in English speaking and writing.
• Experience with a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or related fields.
• More than 5 years of experience in PLC development in the non‑standard automation field.
• Logical thinking, able to adapt to fast‑paced work and business trips for projects.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to directly work with international colleagues and customers.
