Sulzer is seeking a Field Service Electrical Engineer (Rotating Equipment & Motor Specialist) to join our Colton team. You will split time between field service, shop support, and engineering tasks, performing on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repair work on motors, generators, transformers and switchgear.

Travel to customer sites is required. Ideal candidates have at least 4 years of electrical engineering experience, strong knowledge of motors and transformers, and the ability to develop

Qualifications

• 4 years' experience in electrical engineering.
• Experience repairing and designing electric motors, generators, transformers, and switchgear.
• Knowledge of power semiconductors and motor control principles.
• Understanding of induction and synchronous motor operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support on customer requests on phone and on site.
• Perform unplanned on-site services and troubleshooting of electrical rotating equipment.
• Conduct planned maintenance checks on electrical machines (AC/DC motors, generators).

This role applies engineering knowledge to support the planning, testing, and implementation of mechanical and electromechanical systems.The individual with this position will have to split their time in-between the engineering team objectives, field service, field service reports and shop engineering support. This engineering position will entail a dual role with hands-on-responsibilities along with other engineering tasks. It is expected that the individual will need training as part of on-boarding process and Sulzer will accommodate.**Key Responsibilities*** Provide technical support and assistance on customer requests - on phone and on site.* Carry out unplanned on-site services and troubleshooting on electrical installation incl. electrical rotating equipment (motors and generators).* Prepare and perform planned preventive maintenance checks (PM) on electrical machines incl.
