Job summary

Irving Oil is seeking a Service Dispatcher to coordinate emergency and non-emergency calls, create work orders, and balance technician safety with customer needs. The role involves collaborating with customers, load builders, and field staff to execute schedules efficiently.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience is an asset.
• 3–5 years’ dispatch or related field experience, preferably in a contact center or transportation environment.
• Team player who can share responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Receive emergency and non-emergency calls, record information and create work orders; dispatch based on priority.
• Coordinate with Load builders and maintain connection with customers and field representatives.
• Apply policies to determine critical processes and ensure proper billing.
• Deliver status updates to Operations Managers and internal teams.
• Recommend improvements to optimize performance and resolve issues; assign helpers as needed.
• Follow through on promises and make timely decisions to support business objectives.
• Maintain call center metrics such as Average Handle Time and after-call work.
