Hawthorne Cat, a family-owned leader in construction machinery and power generation, seeks a Field Service Dispatcher/Coordinator in San Diego, CA. You will coordinate and dispatch field service, communicate with customers and technicians, prepare estimates, and ensure accurate billing and WIP management.

The role emphasizes proactive scheduling, clarity in updates, and adherence to service templates. A strong, customer-focused communicator with PC skills is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of general office experience.
• Three to five years of customer service/relationship building and/or sales experience.
• Three to five years of heavy equipment parts/service experience preferred.
• PC skills are required.
• Must have great communication skills.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Strong work ethic, flexibility, ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates day-to-day field service operations, scheduling, and administration.
• Acts as liaison between customers, field technicians, service management, and internal support teams.
• Prepares service estimates and quotations for field repairs and maintenance.
• Verifies customer authorization for labor, travel, parts, and charges before work is performed.
• Manages work orders, billing requirements, and WIP tracking.
• Coordinates technician scheduling based on availability, skills, and location.
• Distributes standard labor hours and communicates expectations to technicians.
• Participates in daily service coordination meetings to review workload and priorities.
• Supports collections by coordinating with credit and finance departments.
• Reviews service reports for accuracy before billing.
• Monitors technician utilization and service completion to optimize resources.
• Handles emergency and priority dispatch requests promptly.
