Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) to maintain and repair complex rental equipment at customer sites. You will perform work safely, provide exceptional service, and have opportunities to advance within the Service Department.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, travel to job sites, documentation of work orders, assisting training of junior technicians, and helping with parts delivery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and engine knowledge.
• Must own tools for the position.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; maintain a clean, professional service vehicle.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain complete documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as assigned.
