Job description

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Nashville, TN. You will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Engage in ongoing development and certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

• Complete complex internal engine repairs
• Perform complex unassisted engine overhauls
• Troubleshoot with limited or no support from diagnostic tools
• Have a detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
• Mentor junior technicians, including providing technical support and documentation

The base salary will be commensurate with experience. QUALIFICATIONS

The technician must have their own basic hand tools.

DOT Requirements

• A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
• A CDL holder must be at least 21 years old
• A current valid license is required for this role
• A 5-year motor vehicle report free from major violations is required
• The applicant must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
• Minimum of 3 years driving experience
• This role is subject to DOT driving regulations, including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Book use

Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years or older; applicants must meet this age requirement.

• This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing, with ongoing random testing during employment.
