DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Knoxville, TN. The role involves making an impact through:

• Completing repairs on engine products in a service shop

• Performing maintenance and repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

• Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles

• Adhering to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

• Engaging in ongoing development and certifications on new and existing Cummins products

• Maintaining own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• To complete complex internal engine repairs

• To perform complex unassisted engine overhauls

• To troubleshoot with limited or no support from diagnostic tools

• A detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components

• To mentor junior technicians, including providing technical support and documentation

Compensation and Benefits

QUALIFICATIONS

While a CDL is not required, it is preferred. A valid driver’s license is necessary. Power Gen background or knowledge is preferred. The role requires:

• A responsible driver status
• Compliance with DOT regulations
• A CDL may be required upon hire
• Applicants must be 21 years or older due to federal law
• A current valid license is required
• A motor vehicle report free from major violations for the past 5 years
• Passing a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
• At least 3 years of driving experience
• Adherence to DOT driving regulations, including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Book use

Note: Due to EPA requirements in Tennessee, a CDL may be necessary to transport oil.

- Federal law mandates operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 or older.
