Job description

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Knoxville, TN. The role involves:

• Completing repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Performing maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhering to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintaining own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

To succeed, you will need:

• Completing complex internal engine repairs
• Performing complex unassisted engine overhauls
• Troubleshooting with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
• Understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
• Mentoring junior technicians, including technical support and documentation

Compensation and Benefits

QUALIFICATIONS

• CDL is not required but preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• Power Gen background or knowledge is preferred
• Responsible Driver
• DOT compliance
• A CDL may be required upon hire
• Must be 21 years or older (per federal law)
• Valid license required
• Must have a 5-year motor vehicle report free from major violations
• Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
• Minimum of 3 years driving experience
• Subject to DOT driving regulations, including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Book use

- Due to EPA requirements in Tennessee, a CDL is necessary for oil transport.

- This role is not subject to FMCSA drug and alcohol testing.
